Aesculus hippocastanum is a classic homeopathic remedy for venous congestion and hemorrhoids. Its chief sphere of action is on the rectum, pelvis, and venous system. The characteristic symptom is a sensation of fullness, dryness, and pain in the rectum, as if full of small sticks. Hemorrhoids are usually non-bleeding but extremely painful, with aching in the sacral and lumbar region.
