Agaricus has a marked action on the nervous system, producing trembling, twitching, spasms, and chorea-like movements. It is often indicated in nervous affections, spinal weakness, and conditions where there is a lack of coordination of muscles. Patients may complain of jerking, itching, burning sensations as if from frostbite, making it a well-known remedy for chilblains.
It is also useful in senile dementia, poor circulation, and nervous excitability in children.
